Girls (and everyone) just wanna have fun!

The last couple of weeks, we’ve covered the critical accounts you’ll need for urgent and emergency situations: your Phew! Fund for the expected unexpected and your Emergency Fund that covers your expenses if you lose your income.
Those are essential. And rather a downer.
But life is meant to be enjoyed . . . which is why we reward ourselves once we get those two accounts rolling.
When you’ve set aside at least $1,000 in your Phew! Fund and started your Emergency Fund, it’s time to sprinkle some money into you Fun Fund.
What’s your idea of fun? A local pub crawl with pals? Going skydiving with fellow adventurous souls? Attending a destination wedding in a sunny location with gorgeous beaches and the relaxing sound of waves while the rest of us are suffering the January blues in Western Washington?
But I digress . . .
Cyndi Lauper had it right: girls just wanna have fun. So do boys. So does everyone!
One wet blanket that could be tossed on your fun is wondering how you’re going to pay for it rather than fully enjoying the experience.
That’s why you set up a Fun Fund!
The local pub crawl with pals? Tap your Fun Fund.
Skydiving with thrill-seekers? Fun Fund!
The sunshiney destination wedding that doubles as an incredible vacation and boosts your natural vitamin D while the rest of us are dealing with liquid sunshine? Definitely Fun Fund!
Sometimes fun has plenty of notice. But sometimes you get that last-minute text about an incredible opportunity with just a few hours notice.
Say yes. Don't stress.
You have a Fun Fund!
You can start small when building your Fun Fund since you’re likely still working on your Phew! and Emergency Funds. Have a goal, say, $25 a month. Even with that itty bitty amount, you will have saved $300 in just a year.
That’s a lot of fun!
Your Phew! Fund handles life's setbacks.
Your Emergency Fund gets you through the tough times.
Your Fun Fund makes sure the good times roll.
Be prepared for bad times. And be prepared for good times.
Have fun. Have a Fun Fund.
Be the boss of your bucks!
